Coach / founder
Ross has been married for 6 years to his beautiful bride, Staci. They have a two year old daughter, Harley, who is doing her best to keep them young. They currently live in Sugarcreek, near Ross' parents Mike and Regina Yoder, and Ross works at D Yoder Hardwoods as well as help coaches Garaway Middle School baseball. Previously he was the assistant coach at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU), where he earned my Masters Degree in Business Finance. "Coaching at the collegiate level was a dream come true, building lifelong friendships, getting to teach the finer points of the game, and having the opportunity to recruit were my highlights."
His playing career started at Hiland High School, where he graduated in 2003. He attended The College of Wooster for two years before transferring to MVNU to finish his collegiate career. He was a middle infielder all of his career, playing both short stop and second base.
"I coach because of the impact that coaches have had on me. I have been taught so much by some amazing people. It's my responsibility to pass on the lessons I've learned and continue learning myself!"
BJ is married to his wife Emily and they have a beautiful two year old daughter, Meredith. They live in Dundee and he currently works for Holmes Lumber.
Baseball has been a part of BJ's life for as long as he can remember. He played growing up, and graduated from Hiland High School in 2012, where he played Middle Infield. After playing, he began coaching. He helped at Hiland for four years at the High School level and currently coaches Middle School baseball at Garaway as well as Press On.
He grew up in Benton, the youngest of 6 kids. He Played a lot of ball with his brothers in the backyard and has had a passion for the game ever since. He graduated from Hiland in 2014 and continued playing at Malone as a relief pitcher before graduating in 2018.
He now works at Hummel Group and lives in Sugarcreek. "As of November 2022 I will also be married to the beautiful Liz Yoder. I look forward to starting our lives together along with two cute pups, Nala & Ivy."
His summers are spent coaching, watching, playing, and umpiring a lot of baseball. BJ says that a lot of his friendships have been made through the game and he loves to see it play out in others' lives as well.
Eric grew up in Berlin, and has been playing baseball ever since he could pick up a baseball. His parents are Brian and Rena Mullet and he's the middle child with two sisters, Jamie and Courtney. He went to high school at Hiland where he was a pitcher, third basemen, and sometimes an outfielder.
After high school he had the privilege to go to Malone University and be a pitcher for the Pioneers. He enjoyed three successful years before COVID cancelled his senior year, and an injury caused him to have limited appearances my redshirt senior year.
"After finishing my playing career, I married my beautiful wife Caylie in October 2021 and had the opportunity to be a graduate assistant for Malone while I finished my MBA." They currently live in Sugarcreek and he's been working at Homestead Furniture for just over a year.
Andy grew up in Walnut Creek and has been playing baseball since he was 5 years old. His parents are Lee and Ruby Miller and he has one sister, Brittany. He went to Hiland High School where he played outfield, pitcher, third base, and shortstop.
After high school he went on to play at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. After a shortened COVID freshman year, he played two more seasons as a middle infielder and got his bachelors degree in Management.
"This past summer I had the privilege of marrying my amazing wife, Lyndsey. We currently live in Walnut Creek and I have been working at Homestead Furniture for a few months."
Casey is the son of John and Suzanne Kalman. He lives in Berlin and went to Hiland High School. He played 4 years at Hiland, catching and at first base. He's currently a Junior at Mount Vernon Nazarene University and chose MVNU to help him pursue and grow in his faith as well as playing some ball.
Just getting into coaching with less than a year of experience, he loves the game of baseball and teaching it the right way, as well as teaching young kids how to pursue God’s love.
"I love what Ross is doing with Press On program and I cannot wait to see what the future holds for this program!"
Kevin's parents are John and Robin Schrock and he has a twin sister Kristi. He played high school baseball at Hiland, graduating in 2013 and went on to play at the University of Findlay from 2014-17. There, he had the opportunity to play two summers in the GLSCL for the Galion Graders. Since college he has been coaching the Hiland JV and Freshman teams and just finished his fourth year there in 2021.
He has also coached the Hiland High School summer team for a few summers, and during the COVID season he spent the summer coaching a 10U travel team.
Ryan's parents are Lee and Karen Troyer. He grew up in the Walnut Creek, OH area which is where he attended elementary school. From there he graduated from Hiland High School . During his elementary and high school years, he primarily played one sport, and that was baseball. As a kid he was obsessed with the Indians. His favorite players were Jim Thome and Omar Vizquel.
"Growing up, baseball taught me a lot about over coming adversity and how that applies to life. It taught me hard work and what it meant to be apart of a team."
Some of his favorite memories in life are from baseball whether it was specific games or being with the team at a hotel. One of the most memorable moments in his baseball time was going to Bangor, Maine to play in the Little League World Series where he got to play against and meet teams all over the U.S. and around the world. He also helped coach at Hiland for 4 years and then helped coach 7th and 8th grade Garaway for 2 years. Other than baseball his favorite hobbies are hunting and fishing.
Todd has always had a big passion for sports, especially baseball. He started his playing career at Hiland High school before having the opportunity to play collegiately at Malone University. After graduation he spent one year coaching at MVNU.
Todd is now married to his lovely wife Jodi and is currently employed at ProVia. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing golf, playing golf some more, and traveling. Within the past year I have had the opportunity to teach and coach students and athletes from ages 10-14. At church my wife and I are sponsors with our Jr. Youth ministry.
"We have really felt that call to be able to help lead and be examples for these young kids as they are maturing and really figuring out who they are. With Press On I get to do the same thing except involve baseball which has been amazing. Sports created opportunities like none other to lead and teach valuable life lessons. Press On has awesome things in-store and I am excited to be apart of it!"
Clippy grew up in Walnut Creek Ohio, the youngest of three kids. He played baseball every day during the summer with his older brother Ross, and ran to our older sister Lish for protection when he made Ross too angry. "The reason I am who I am today is because of them and the awesome support system my parents Mike and Regina have been to me as well."
His baseball career started the day he was old enough to play with Ross in the backyard. He had the opportunity to play high school baseball at Hiland and college baseball at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. In Highschool he played shortstop as well as pitched and in college he played shortstop. When asked for a fun fact, Clippy recalls that when he was in tee ball he hit left-handed. However, his dad thought he hit better as a righty, so 2nd-5th grade he hit right-handed. Clippy eventually convinced him to let him try to hit left-handed and so from his 6th grade year and from 7th grade on, the experience gave him the ability to be a switch hitter.
He had the opportunity to be the assistant baseball coach at Hiland for five years and now he helps Ross coach Garaway middle school baseball and currently works at Homestead Furniture, Abner Henry and Dutch Design in Mount Hope and lives in Baltic, Ohio.
"The biggest part of coaching for me is having the opportunity to utilize a game to talk about Jesus and life lessons. Baseball is a game of failure – the best of the best fail much more than they succeed. Learning how to handle those things in a game is a great way to prepare for life outside of sports. My favorite verse is one I often fail at: Ephesians 4:2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
